About Me
Marc Turnage holds an MA in Jewish History and New Testament Backgrounds from Jerusalem University College. He is currently finishing his PhD in the Land of Israel Studies Department at Bar Ilan University located in Ramat Gan, Israel, under the supervision of Professor Esther Eshel. Living in Israel for seven years, Marc fell in love with the lands of the Bible (Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Italy) and how the lands provide a doorway into the world of the Bible--its geography, history, and culture. He subsequently has been guiding groups to the lands of the Bible for over twenty years. Marc utilizes a four-dimensional approach within his instruction and writing that integrates the physical, historical, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of the world of the Bible with the biblical text.

Marc has taught graduate and undergraduate studies at several universities in the United States and abroad. He has published widely for both academic and popular audiences. His most recent book, Windows Into the Bible, was named by Outreach Magazine as one of its top 100 Christian living resources. Marc is a widely sought after speaker, and a gifted teacher. He resides in Springfield, MO with his family.

"I went to Israel in 1996 to study because I believed that the issues of language, culture, history, and physical setting make a difference in how we read the Bible. I have not been disappointed. Often, Christians read the Bible with little knowledge of the contemporary issues, personages and nuances of language that provide such an important element in molding our understanding of the Bible and its message."--Marc Turnage
